When word of gold reached the Ferry family in Seattle, they raced to Alaska and the Yukon Territory to seek their fortune. They staked claims in Ruby, Alaska and Dawson City, Yukon Territory. All of the history and family heirlooms of this era are on display in the Yukon Room, as are many original books from the Yukon that you are free to read. There are also dozens of family photos of the Gold Rush days, never seen by anyone but family until now. The commons room also has Ketchikan artifacts that were dug up over the last 30 years by avid collector and beachcomber, Ramona Ferry. You will see an opium bottle collection and sake jugs that were unearthed from old cannery sites in Southeast Alaska. There are totem poles, glass floats, Native Indian baskets, ivory pieces, trade beads and much, much more. Please
